In my art, it feels most natural to explore my own experiences. So, many of the concepts I am interested in relate to the human experience in general. My work investigates concepts of home, family, loss, and emotion. To explore those ideas, I have worked with domestic materials, like fabric and sewing. Art is meditative and therapeutic for me. I also enjoy nature, as it is another way for me to find stillness. So natural elements, like landscapes, plants, and water, are often the subjects of my work as well. Recently, I have been moving towards abstraction, and I have been experimenting with sculpture and new mediums, like glass.
